UNH TE/P Kyle Auffray Chases NFL Dream
For Kyle Auffray, his journey started out as a preferred walk on Quarterback at Mississippi State. However, after a year at MSU, Kyle felt there was better opportunity to prove himself elsewhere. Kyle, then decided to pack up his bags and head to the University of New Hampshire.
As soon as he arrived at UNH, the coaching staff felt the best position for him was at tight end and punter. He made the switch and sat patiently behind All- American Tight End Scott Sicko. His Senior Year arrived and he won both the starting tight end and punting jobs. At the tight end spot, Kyle racked up 50 knock downs and pulled in a TD catch. He was utilized as more of a blocking tight end. At punter he kicked 20 punts inside the 20 yard line and had a long of 67 yards.
Kyle is on a mission to land a try out with an NFL team. It's his ultimate goal, and he has the physical tools to do so. At his pro-day Kyle weighed in at 6'5 253lbs. He ran a 4.73 forty yard dash, 4.44 shuttle, 9'2 broad jumps, and had 15 bench reps of 225. If invited to the NFL combine, Kyle would've have place top 4 in all categories. Kyle also trained with top NFL prospects such as Miami CB Demarcus Van Dyke and Maryland WR Torrey Smith at Bommarito performance systemsin Miami, Florida. He's trained and been around the draft's best.
Kyle credits everything he has accomplished so far to his parents, who he says have been encouraging him to chase his dream. For now, Kyle Auffray will await a call for a try out with an NFL team, and until that phone rings, Kyle will keep pursuing his dream with tenacity.
